Over recent weeks we’ve seen an increase in reports of unknown person(s) trying car door handles and in some cases gaining entry into the vehicle and removing items. These type of incidents are often opportunistic and the offenders target a number of vehicles hoping to find ones that have been left unlocked. We want to remind residents to be extra vigilant and to ensure their vehicles are always left secure and locked with no valuables left inside. 

These incidents have occurred across Basingstoke. A few areas to note are South Ham, Brighton Hill, Popley, Brookvale, Kings Furlong and Old Basing.
