LATEST FROM THE HHRT

Gosport & Fareham's High Harm Reduction Team have again been extremely busy over the course of the last week.

Below, Sergeant Willis gives you all insight into what his team have been getting up to... ⬇

"Good afternoon all,

I introduced the High Harm team a few months ago and touched on what we do. I thought I would go further and give you a flavour of our week;

Monday – A proactive stop check of two males which led to their arrests for possession with intent to supply class A drugs. We seized £2000 plus in cash, a significant amount of Class A and mobile phones. They have been released under investigation and our efforts continue…..watch this space. Oh, we also seized their car for driving offences!

Tuesday – The team conditionally cautioned a female with possession of Class A. We supported a vulnerable female who gave evidence at court against a violent ex-partner. He was found guilty and we await sentencing in February. The team were also ‘out and about’ gathering intelligence.

Wednesday – The team executed a local warrant which you have already heard about. Again, two persons were arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A with intent to supply. Drugs, money, phones and property were seized and the investigation continues.

Thursday – The team had a Continuous Personal Development day (training) which is a requirement for a ‘licence to police’. The training covered Modern day slavery, Immigration and out of court disposals. During the training,  one of our specialists provided technical assistance to a challenging incident on the Isle of Wight.

Friday – The team have been providing technical assistance with regard future operations. We have further arrested a male for possession of criminal property and are completing a house search.

We are a small but dedicated team who are tenacious with our activities. We are out there making every effort to target those who have a negative effect on our communities.

Have a great weekend

Sergeant Willis"
