Witness Appeal - Theft of Motor Vehicles

Good Morning,

Hampshire Constabulary would like to bring to your attention three incidents of Theft of Motor Vehicle which have taken place overnight (12/10/2021 - 13/10/2021) in the area of Sheldon's Coppice in Hook. The offender/s have targeted high performance vehicles and appear to have started these remotely via a relay device which connects with the vehicles fob.

At this time we appealing for witnesses to these offences. We are aware there may be some Ring Doorbell or CCTV footage circulating on WhatsApp and we are keen to secure this. We are also keen to speak with anyone who may have heard or seen anything out of the ordinary overnight during the hours of darkness. If you do have footage, please notify us and we will arrange to secure this.

We would ask all residents to overlook their home security and take note of the following steps which can be taken to deter any offending:
  • Ensure your vehicle is left locked and secured whenever unattended.
  • Ensure all valuables are removed from your vehicle.
  • Where possible, ensure garages are used to store your vehicle.
  • Consider the use of a Faraday Pouch to ensure any connection between your keys and vehicle is severed and can not be interfered with.

Where a Faraday Pouch is not an option, store your keys as far away from your vehicle as you can within your property. Consider placing the keys within a Microwave or another metal structure when not in use.
