Message from the Chairman Hants Neighbourhood Watch

Alert message sent 16/09/2020 20:11:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch

This message is sent to Rushmoor Coordinators only and relates to recent comments that may have been seen in the media recently:

"Dear Coordinators,

Following on from the recent concerns about reporting to the police any breaches of the Covid protection rules,

Here is a sensible summary on the best way to approach this  – issued by National Neighbourhood Watch today

Please share this with all your coordinators and members.
·         It is best if neighbours speak to each other about any concerns and to offer support as many individual people and Neighbourhood Watch has been doing throughout the crisis

·         Neighbourhood Watch develops good relationships with local policing teams to ensure all local rules and enforcement can be shared by neighbours with each other within communities

·         Neighbourhood Watch, like other organisations and local people, has been really active in all communities during the covid-19 crisis supporting neighbours and vulnerable people and making communities stronger, more resilient and connected and will continue to do this

·         If someone is too afraid to speak to their neighbours then contacting their local Neighbourhood Watch co-ordinator or other community group may provide the support they need

·         Addressing the covid-19 crisis is not about reporting neighbours but is about all of us taking responsibility to reduce and stop the spread of the virus.

Kind regards
Bob Combes
Chairman  - Hampshire Neighbourhood Watch Association"
