New NW scheme ?

Alert message sent 06/07/2020 15:21:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch

Hello Neil,
May I introduce myself as Police Support Volunteer, NW and Alert/Ourwatch administrator for the whole of the Basingstoke Police Area and also member of the local BDNWA committee.

For many years, in the Basingstoke area, our policy has been to police check all NW coordinators prior to them taking up the role and I attach our check form which I hope you will complete and return to me so that we can start a scheme in Westminster Close.

The Alert/Ourwatch national system allows people to "Self Declare" as coordinators, because in some parts of the country, there is no checking and that is how they operate. In Basingstoke, we have always had our residents and NW members safety at the forefront and that is why we check first.

As you probably realise, we are working from home at the moment until the Hampshire Constabulary sort out the procedure to allow us back to police offices. In view of that please return your completed form to me at brian.adams@bdnw.org.uk. I will then arrange for the police checks and update you as to the outcome. If favourable I will also do the necessary formalities to set the scheme as official.

Regards
Brian Adams
Alert/Ourwatch Administrator for Basingstoke  &
Police Support Volunteer for NW - Basingstoke Police District.
