Leigh Park residents asked to save CCTV footage for missing Louise investigation

Alert message sent 20/05/2020 15:38:00

Information sent on behalf of Hampshire Constabulary

We are asking residents in Leigh Park to save any CCTV footage they might have from Thursday 7 May and Friday 8 May as we continue to search for missing Louise.

The last reported sighting we have of the 16-year-old is midday on VE Day (Friday 8 May) in Somborne Drive, Havant.

As part of our ongoing enquiries to find Louise, we are not only trying to trace her movements since this time, but also in the previous 24 hours, so that we have a clear understanding of where she had been and who she may have spoken to.

We know she was in the Tesco Metro store, in Greywell Road, shortly before 7.30pm the night before she was reported missing (Thursday, 7 May) and we are today able to share that image with you, in the hope it may jog your memory. You can view this on our website: https://www.hampshire.police.uk/news/hampshire/news/missing/2020/may/leigh-park-residents-asked-to-save-cctv-footage-for-missing-louise-investigation/

Perhaps you saw her on Thursday 7 May, either before or after she was in the store?

Chief Inspector Alex Reading said: “If you live in Leigh Park and have CCTV footage from Thursday 7 May and Friday 8 May, please save it if this is possible, and do not delete it. Officers are systematically working their way through the area making enquiries so would be keen to collect it from you when they reach you.

“Alternatively, you can make contact us directly and we can arrange for an officer to attend to collect it and view it.

“We are not expecting the public to view it all themselves to see if there is anything significant – you can leave that part to us. We are keen to secure as much CCTV footage as possible as part of enquiries.”

He added: “I would once again like to take this opportunity to appeal directly to Louise to make contact with us. Louise, please call us and let us know you are ok. We just want to know that you are safe.

“If you feel you cannot call us, then please call a friend or a loved one – we need to know that you are ok.”

Louise is described as:
• White
• Around 5ft 2ins tall
• Slim
• Straight, black, shoulder-length hair

We can’t be certain what she is likely to be wearing now, but she was described as wearing black jeans, a black and white striped T-shirt, black trainers and a black coat with a fur hood on Thursday 7 May.

Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting 44200163113, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
