Break to Garage and Theft of Tools

Alert message sent 01/10/2019 12:42:00

Information sent on behalf of Hampshire Constabulary

Dear Resident,

Hampshire Police have received a report of a break in to a set of detached garages at an address in Sandy Down, Boldre.

The targeted property is currently in the process of being developed by the owner. A number of power tools were stolen.

This break in occurred some time between 18:00 hours on Tuesday 24th September 2019 and 08:00 hours on Friday 27th September 2019.

If you were in the area of Sandy Down between those times and saw anything suspicious, please contact Hampshire Police and quote reference 44190344872.

Unfortunately, it is not uncommon for thieves to target properties that are being renovated or built as the chances of expensive tools or building materials being left on site are high. If you are able, please consider leaving valuable items of property elsewhere or consider the following security measures -

Installation of Heras Fencing around sites
CCTV
Lighting
Marking of equipment/noting serial numbers so that there is a chance that if we recover stolen items, we will be able to get them back to you.
