A 24-year old woman from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of assault by beating and shoplifting.

It follows four reported incidents at stores in Hedge End in February. The woman, who was arrested in Southampton this morning (Thursday 18 April), remains in police custody at this time.

Meanwhile, on an unrelated matter, a 73-year-old man from Hedge End has been arrested on suspicion of harassment without violence.

It follows an incident reported to police in January. The man was detained in Hedge End this morning and remains in police custody.

Both individuals were detained by officers from Hedge End Neighbourhood Policing Team.
