Tenth man arrested in connection with Odiham public order incident

Officers investigating a public order incident in Odiham have made their tenth arrest.

Police were called at 3.15pm on Sunday 8 October last year to reports of a disturbance involving two groups of people at a site off the A287 Farnham Road, near the Chalky Lane junction.

A man sustained an injury to his head from what we believe to have been a strike with a crowbar, while a man at the scene was also reportedly seen with a gun. We believe all the parties involved are known to each other.

Since it was reported to us, officers have been carrying out extensive enquiries and have now arrested a total of ten men.

A 22-year-old man from Wokingham was yesterday (8 April) arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and violent disorder.

He has been bailed with conditions until 8 July, pending further enquiries.

It comes after officers made nine arrests between October and February:

They have both been released from bail under investigation, pending further enquiries.

Both men have been released from bail under investigation while our enquiries continue.

  • Meanwhile, on 5 January, a 31-year-old man from Odiham voluntarily attended a police station and was interviewed under caution in relation to the incident. He remains under investigation.
